Gatwick is on the far side of London from Edgware, which is why many people choose an Edgware to Gatwick taxi rather than two or three trains with heavy cases. We connect you with licensed local minicab and taxi companies who give you a fixed price quote for the whole journey. You can book online, call 02037405080 or send us a WhatsApp message.
The same applies coming home. A pre-booked Gatwick cab means you are not queuing for a ride after a long flight, and you know the price before you land.
The route from Edgware to Gatwick
Most drivers avoid central London. They join the M1 at Junction 4 and then use the M25, going round the western side of London to the M23, which runs straight down to the airport. On a quiet night some drivers may cut through town instead, but the motorway route is usually the most reliable.
| Typical distance | About 45 to 55 miles |
|---|---|
| Typical journey time | 70 to 100 minutes, longer at peak times |
| Main roads | M1, M25 and M23 |
| Terminals served | North Terminal and South Terminal |
| Booking | Online, by phone or WhatsApp, 24/7 |
Because the trip is long and goes round the M25, traffic makes a big difference. We suggest you leave Edgware at least four hours before a long-haul departure and three and a half hours before a short-haul one. These are typical times only.
North or South Terminal?
Gatwick has two terminals, connected by a free shuttle. Check which one your airline uses before you travel, as it can change. Tell us when you book so the driver goes to the right one. If you get it wrong, the shuttle takes only a few minutes, but it is still better to get it right first time.
Drop-off and parking charges: Gatwick charges for dropping off close to the terminals, and pick-ups use the short-stay car parks. Ask whether your quote includes these charges.
Is a taxi the cheapest way to Gatwick?
For one person with a small bag, the train is often cheaper. For two or more people, or a family with cases, a fixed price minicab often works out close to the same total, without the changes at King's Cross, St Pancras or Victoria. Our booking form shows quotes from local cab companies so you can compare and decide for yourself. For groups, a 6 seater taxi or a 7 seater taxi usually costs less than booking two cars.
